Rocky Mountain Pictures for websites & print
Rocky mountain pictures offer the photographer unlimited opportunity. We are fortunate to live in the foothills of the Sangre De Christo mountains at the southern end of the Rocky Mountain chain in North America. Within a 15 mile radius of our home we can reach a peak where we can look out over a landscape 4,000 feet below us. Because of the dry air and clear skies we can see for miles. You can imagine what a telephoto lens does in that situation.
Gold and silver was found many places in the rockies, and ghost towns with abandoned homes and mining equipment are common. We find it hard to imagine how miners could work all winter, buried in mineshafts under the snow at 13,000. Try to imagine the effort required to swing a pickaxe all day at that elevation.
This website displays only a few of our collection of rocky mountain pictures. At Walking Rain Gallery we have more, as well as many pictures of other subjects. Clicking links on this site will take you to the rocky mountain category of Walking Rain Gallery.
